Our client, one of North America’s leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil, and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico has an immediate need for an IT QA Analyst. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Calgary, Alberta.

The IT QA Analyst will provide advanced technical support, technical direction, and mentoring to the Network Services team.
Role Accountabilities:
- Work on cutting-edge innovation projects using cloud-native technologies, advanced analytics, AI & Machine Learning
- Contribute to an agile delivery team.
- Contribute to solution implementation efforts within assigned projects.
- Build and manage a robust quality assurance strategy on initiatives.
- Perform manual testing on new features.
- Implement automated testing including both server-side and user interface.
- Advise on product solutions for operations support platforms.
- Act as a second/third-level support resource for network issues.
- Lead implementation of new networking and operational initiatives and create the appropriate technical support documentation.
- Review existing infrastructure and make recommendations to address issues to improve network security and/or performance and to enhance the reliability, availability, and functionality of the systems and services.
- Provide network context and design requirements for the Infrastructure Design team resources.
- Keep current on industry products and technologies available for communications, (e.g., Internet services, encryption software, security software).
- Work closely with all departments within the company to ensure solution execution and problem resolution.
- Build strong relationships with business partners by developing an in-depth understanding of their business needs and processes.
- Makes decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues autonomously, including those without formal guidelines or precedents.
- Exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy.
- Responsible for and oversees the provision of effective and responsive technical solutions and support to all Telecom Systems under the Core Network Operations group.
- Manages complex and/or multiple projects and is considered a Subject Matter Expert who has the ability to influence others.
- Provide mentorship to other team members to foster technical growth and operational diligence. Provides recommendations and oversight of program budgets, schedules of projects, and sequencing of projects.
- Highly involved in developing solutions to program and project issues, analyzing options and impacts to mitigate risks, both at the project level and broadly/organization-wide.
Qualifications:
- University Degree or technical diploma in relevant discipline.
- 10+ years experience in technical infrastructure and telecommunications.
- History of enterprise delivery
- Proven track record within traditional and cloud-native application stacks
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- AWS cloud experience including greenfield development, re-platforming, and lift and shift.
- Experience with projects following Agile delivery methods.
- Familiarity with databases and other data storage technologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code/Build, Deploy, and System automation.
- Familiarity with git source control and basic operations
- Experience with test automation (i.e., WebDriver, Selenium, Cucumber, BDD)
- Experience with test-driven development and server-side automated testing (i.e., unit tests)
- Cloud Infrastructure & Networking knowledge
- Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Cloud Certifications
- Basic Python coding skills
